20 Spectaculaire Giraffoto’s uit de Remembering Wildlife-fotowedstrijd

Remembering Wildlife heeft de 20 winnaars bekendgemaakt van zijn wedstrijd voor beelden die in het komende boek zullen verschijnen, Remembering Giraffes.

Het aantal giraffen is de afgelopen drie decennia met ongeveer 40% gedaald en op sommige delen van Afrika zijn ze volledig uit het landschap verdwenen. Remembering Wildlife streeft ernaar beschermingsprojecten te financieren met de opbrengst uit de verkoop van Remembering Giraffes, het elfde boek in de reeks dat sinds de lancering in 2016 meer dan $1,64 miljoen heeft gedoneerd aan 82 projecten in 35 landen.

Het boek zal op 12 oktober 2026 verschijnen en de 20 winnende beelden zullen naast adembenemende foto’s van alle vier giraffesoorten staan, geschonken door velen van ’s werelds toonaangevende wildlife-fotografen, waaronder Wim van den Heever en Daryl Balfour, twee van de juryleden dit jaar.

“Fotografen van over de hele wereld hebben opnieuw op onze oproep gereageerd en indrukwekkende beelden van giraffes in hun natuurlijke habitat ingezonden voor onze wedstrijd,” zegt Remembering Wildlife-oprichter en -producent Margot Raggett MBE. “Deze 20 winnende foto’s verdienen terecht hun plek tussen onze reguliere bijdragers, wiens verbluffende werk de serie mogelijk heeft gemaakt.”
